About Maryann
I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate who graduated with honors with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from North Greenville University and a Master’s in Professional Counseling from Liberty University.
I believe that presence has a healing power of its own, and can be seen when people truly feel heard, respected, and valued. This belief is backed by research demonstrating that the client-therapist relationship is key to establishing a space where positive treatment outcomes can be achieved through evidence-based treatments that fit each person’s specific needs. I am committed to working with clients to engage them in planning the path forward, ensuring we are on the same page and working towards the same goals.
In my work and educational training, I have come to adopt a counseling approach that is varied, but derived mainly from cognitive behavioral, person-centered, and solutions-focused theoretical approaches. My hope is that clients will gain knowledge and tools throughout their journey that will facilitate continued growth and development even after therapy has ended.
I live in Raleigh, NC with my husband and three children. In my spare time, I enjoy activities outdoors, spending time with friends, and enjoying good food with those I love.
