ABOUT FAITH
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate who earned my Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando. I have experience working in a community mental health clinic in Orlando, Florida that provided low-cost counseling to people from a diverse set of backgrounds.
I personally understand the courage required to take the first step toward personal counseling, and I find sitting and partnering with clients in their most vulnerable places to be an honor. I believe that our most difficult places can also be the places where we find our greatest strengths. My hope is to foster safety and trust as the strong foundation for the work of counseling I will do with my clients. I believe in the power of choice, compassion, and curiosity in the counseling relationship. While my demeanor is warm and thoughtful, I am also known for my passion, honesty, and laughter. I respect my clients’ values and beliefs, aiming to empower them toward mental and emotional health that is most authentic to them.
In my professional practice, I aim to help clients heal and improve their lives through multiple modalities of therapy, including Interpersonal Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - with a foundation in Attachment Theory. I am also trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy and Somatic and Attachment-Focused E.M.D.R, which combines Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) with somatic and attachment-informed techniques to facilitate healing from complex trauma. I particularly enjoy using these therapies to treat Trauma, Relational Trauma, Sexual Compulsions, and Relational Issues. I primarily work with college students and women of all ages.
I live in Durham with my husband Marco and cats, Ducky and Luna. In my free time I enjoy reading, watching movies, and sharing meals with friends.
