ABOUT ABBY

Abby Savage is pursuing her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Regent University. Before beginning her clinical training, she worked in early childhood education and musical theatre—experiences that continue to shape her creative and developmentally attuned approach to therapy. She also brings meaningful experience in trauma support, addiction recovery, neurodivergence, and bereavement care. These personal and professional experiences inform her deep commitment to walking alongside clients with empathy, curiosity, and respect.

In the therapy room, Abby strives to create a space that is warm, relational, and rooted in trust. She believes healing happens when individuals feel safe, seen, and valued. Clients can expect a compassionate and collaborative environment where they are encouraged to explore their emotions, develop self-compassion, and engage with their own unique strengths and stories.

Abby is particularly passionate about supporting children, teens, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, identity questions, and major life transitions. Her developing clinical style is integrative and grounded in creativity. She is currently training to incorporate Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing, and Expressive Arts Therapy into her work. Abby also welcomes the integration of Christian faith and spirituality for clients who desire that aspect of support in their healing process.

Abby sees clients in both the Durham and Chapel Hill offices and is currently accepting new clients. Outside the therapy room, she loves making music, journaling, biking NC greenways, appreciating the defiant resilience of her oft-neglected sourdough starter, and spending time with her two rambunctious sons and husband of over 20 years.

Abby is supervised by Erik Potter, LCMHCS during her clinical practicum and internship.
