I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with specializations in treating trauma, enhancing parenting, and providing pre-marital counseling.
My goal is to partner with you to enhance the quality of your life. Whether you are dealing with something specific or are seeking increased satisfaction and balance in life, I’m here to help.
Approach to Therapy
I primarily focus on using Evidence-Based Treatments and Practices to meet the needs of you and your family, and believe in an approach that is solution-focused and strengths-based. I strive to create a uniquely safe and thoughtful environment for you to experience healing using our collective resources. By using an approach that focuses on your strengths, the best research evidence, and is as safe as possible, clients are often able to achieve healing much more quickly.
The First Session
Depending on your needs, my approach can include elements of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy), Interpersonal Therapy, PCIT (Parent-Child Interaction Therapy), Psychodynamic Therapy, SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts), TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy).
At the end of our first session, I will provide you with feedback about which treatments are shown to be the most effective at helping you. Throughout our work together, we will regularly evaluate progress and discuss ways to make therapy more useful for you and your family.
My hope is that in our time together you would be open to trying new ideas taught during therapy, motivated to apply those methods throughout the week outside of therapy, be curious about yourself and others, desire to grow, and have a good sense of humor!
