heatherHeather is currently in an administrative role at Potter counseling and often is on the phone, navigating patients through the scheduling process. She is pursuing her master's degree in counseling at Concordia University and will see clients in January 2022. Heather has a long-held interest in mental health and received her Bachelor's in Psychology from Liberty University. She volunteered at Heartland hospice and subsequently worked as a liaison helping patients and families understand the hospice benefit.

Heather believes that therapy empowers an individual to work towards healing in the space of unconditional positive regard. She hopes that everyone she works with feels welcome, safe, and connected.

Heather plans to integrate the Townsend model with other models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy to form a holistic plan. Heather will work with her clients and set goals to eliminate symptomology, increase mental health functioning, and help clients authentically connect to others.

Heather lives in Raleigh with her 9-year-old son, Sam, husband Davis, and two wild boxer pups.
